As a young professional, I learned to make jewelry because I couldn’t find the styles I liked in the fashion trends of the time. It was a hobby and a creative outlet to balance a busy career and family life. My growth from hobbyist to jewelry artist developed quickly through classes, study and practice.
In 2004, I began selling my jewelry in shows, galleries and online. I also started collecting art and vintage jewelry. Heirloom Rescue was a happy accident when I realized I could use my artisan skills to restore or reimagine abandoned vintage jewelry.
My passion and specialty is creating handmade beaded chains. I meticulously craft each chain to highlight the beauty of pearls, crystals, semi-precious stones and unique beads. Occasionally, I combine my chains with metalsmithing techniques to create one of a kind artisan jewelry. I am inspired by nature and the beautiful designs of vintage jewelry. My designs range from minimalist simplicity to highly embellished styles.
Objective
I recently retired from a 43 year career in healthcare and returned to Arvada, where I grew up and lived for many years. My focus is to continue my development as an artist and collector through learning, experimentation, practice and interaction with other artists in the community.
